Had such a lovely time dining here for my birthday dinner this past weekend. Service was so friendly and welcoming. Our beverages were always topped off and I can't exactly tell you how many complimentary apple fritters and rolls I had. The outdoor patio seating was gorgeous with the twinkling lights & view of their garden. The outdoor heaters kept my group perfectly warm during our meal. I had the pistachio crusted sea bass with sage butter and garlic mashed. It also came with their soup which was delicious. Our table shared the trio appetizer- I loved the shrimp & fried green tomato. I had such a pleasant time, this birthday was so memorable! Can't wait to come back!
Was invited here for dinner by one of my managers. We had an amazing time and was one of the most delicious restaurants I've ever been to. I would definitely not mind coming back. Great service great environment great people. The food was amazing and delicious. My pictures speak for themselves if you've not tried this place. Please give it a go.
Excellent Southern French food. The services is usually great. Love their salad and their bread. They have a nice outdoor courtyard. I don't know if they still have the blacked prime rib, but that was really good.
Parking - Very small and very tight parking lot. There is street parking available nearby. Ambiance - If the weather is cool enough, I recommend sitting outside. Their patio is lovely! Food - When they bring around the apple fritters, you need to always say yes. I'm not as much of a fan of their rolls, but they reheat nicely and become a little softer the second day. I had the lemon chicken and the sauce is delicious, especially with all of the capers. A partial size is one chicken breast and for only $5 more, you get a second breast for the full size. Do the full size and you will probably have leftovers. Service was decent. There was a bigger party nearby which seemed to be slowing service just a little bit.
I recommend this restaurant at least twice a week to people at work, friends, etc. So I was shocked to see that I hadn't written a review yet! A few visits ago, I officially declared Shenandoah my favorite restaurant. The ambiance and vibe, the customer service, the cute shops surrounding it, and of course the insanely delicious food, all make this my top choice. The complimentary hot apple fritters alone are worth checking this place out, but the southern dishes just keep getting better and better with each one you try. I love sweet little restaurants like these. Personal faves are the southern BLT, Texas fried chicken salad, and their fresh fish of the day- always prepared so well. You HAVE to check this place out!
We celebrated my grandchild's christening with close family and friends (about 40 persons total). You can reserve a 2 hour or so time slot in the morning around 11 or afternoon at 2 for a large group. My daughter and son in law handled those arrangements, including food and beverage choices. We ended up enjoying the blood orange mimosas so much: they initially purchased just a four bottle pack then ended up with ten total I think! Remember though, one bottle serves 4 flute glasses. The Lunch choices were fried chicken with mashed potatoes or tri tip beef sandwich with roasted peppers and onions plus melted cheese. Starters were green garden salad with tomatoes plus croutons , with Italian or blue cheese as dressings. The green tomatillo chicken soup was quite good , and very mild, so that you could taste the tangy soup , this was topped with cheese. Bruschetta topped with chopped tomatoes and drizzled over with balsamic vinegar was very good: bread stayed crisp and not soggy. A surprise was a cross of beignets or hush puppies of some sort as appetizer - great while still hot and crisp with butter. Dessert was New York style cheesecake with only the plate drizzled with raspberry puree. We had two servers dedicated for the large group and they were definitely very attentive and friendly. There are other businesses in the same area, which share a garden and koi pond. Lots of shady trees but it's pollen season so just take your allergy medicine beforehand. Parking is quite tight if you hit the lunch hour but we found street parking: just look out for signs that specify permit only. One bathroom has a diaper changing table and the other does not - both gender neutral and handicap accessible.
Revisited my favorite restaurant for my birthday! I always love the food here. Every dish I've ordered here is amazing! The food is tasty, savory, and delicious. They serve you with freshly made apple fritter with butter, a dinner roll, and a side salad (or soup) with your entree. Service is always great. Staffs are tentative, efficient, and helpful. Location is beautiful, I love sitting outside under the Mulberry tree.
I haven't been here in a few years, but let me tell you this place never fails. Food is exceptional, fresh tasty. Service is above and beyond and let's talk about ambience. It has an exquisite & beautiful outdoor patio. All the trees in the patio are wrapped with lights and lights hang from the branches to resemble moss. We were a party of 8 and had reservations, no wait time.
